Steger Date: July 11th, 1926 - January 21st, 2010 Obituary: EMILY MAY STEGER 83 of Windsor, CA., formerly a longtime resident of Richmond died Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Creekside Convalescent Hospital in Windsor, CA. Mrs. Steger was born July 11, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Steve and Matilda (Kovacs) Dragony. She married Kenneth Steger in Cleveland on January 18, 1944. Reverend Steger died February 28, 1992. Emily, along with her husband founded the Community Baptist Church of Richmond where they remained for twenty-five years. She served as the church choir director. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, reading and sewing. She is survived by her daughters, Nora and Lawrence John of Windsor, CA. and Deborah and Frank Stager of Matthews, N.C., siblings, Steven and Irma Dragony of Ohio, Ruth and Dean Steger of Ohio and Lillian and Ed Orzak of S.C., grandchildren, Andrea and James Wright, Daniel John, Jerad and Kathy Stager and Jeffrey and Mary Stager and great-grandchildren, Katrina, Joy, Nathan and Seth Stager. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Monge, Margaret Brooks, Rose Brewer and Ernest and Victor Dragony. A funeral service will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:00am in the Community Baptist Church of Richmond. Pastor Bryan Wise will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery.
