Mrs. Brooks was born October 6, 1917 in Russell County, Virginia to the late Albert and Eunice (Sutherland) Owens. She married Donald Brooks in Detroit in 1958. Mr. Brooks died in October of 1968. Geneva worked in the automotive industry and enjoyed traveling, knitting and helping people. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Coolidge, Cornet, Guy, Brady and Dudley Owens and Leatha Edwards. Burial was in Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan on Monday, December 14, 2009.
