Name: Sidney A. Hager Date: November 30th, 1933 - October 13th, 2009 Obituary: SIDNEY ALLEN HAGER 75 of Casco Township died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Mr. Hager was born November 30, 1933 in Mud, West Virginia to the late Clarence and Evie (Thompson) Hager. He married Sally Griffith in Bentley, Michigan on April 21, 1979. Sid was a veteran of the United States Army and retired in 1994 from Special Drill and Reamer in Madison Heights after more than thirty years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Richmond and was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed baseball, golf and wiffle ball with the guys at work but mostly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sally, children, Jeff (Jennifer) of Kimball, Robert of Casco, Leon Howard of Casco, Connie Hager of Eastpointe, Cheryl Hager of Ira, Elise Hager of Casco, Robin Gosselin of Columbus and Emma (Mike) Mertens of Roseville, his brother, Hearldon (Shirley) Hager of W. VA., thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thurman “Sandy” in 1990 and Troy in 2003. A funeral service will be on Friday at 2:00pm in the Community of Christ Church in Richmond. Elder Lyle Teal Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Friday from 12 to 2 in the Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
