Weingartz Date: August 10th, 1931 - July 23rd, 2009 Obituary: LEO LAWRENCE WEINGARTZ age 77 of Lenox died unexpectedly Thursday, July 23, 2009 in the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Mr. Weingartz was born August 10, 1931 in Centerline, Michigan to the late Christopher and Agnes (Robinet) Weingartz. He married Mary Elizabeth Walsh (Langmesser) on October 21, 1971 in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond, MI.. Leo was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Church and graduated from St. Augustine High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as a brick layer mason from Schweihofer Steel Buildings in St. Clair. He was a member of the Bricklayer’s Local I of Detroit, the International Bricklayer’s Union, Knights of Columbus #2667 of Richmond and a fifty year member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and taking walks with his dog, Lily. Mr. Weingartz is survived by his wife, Mary, siblings, Vincent (Laura) of Petoskey , Clement (Katherine) of Centerline, Thomas (Agnes) of St. Clair, Reverend Francis Weingartz of Clinton Twp., Ann (Benjamin) Schweihofer of St. Clair and Rita Frankowiak of Capac and sister-in-law, Marian Weingartz of Utica. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony and brother-in-law, Patrick Frankowiak. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:30 am in St. Augustine Catholic Church with Reverends Joseph Plawecki and Francis Weingartz concelebrating.. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting will be on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Monday from 10 to 10:30am in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Augustine Capital Campaign Building Fund.
