She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on May 27, 1952 to the late Cecil and Geraldine (Pilgrim) Gilbert. She married Leslie Leenknegt in Chesterfield, Michigan on August 25, 1984. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Chesterfield and enjoyed gardening, going up north, and mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Leslie, sons Todd Daenzer of Warren, and Marcel Leenknegt of Riley Twp., grandchildren Tina and Dylan Daenzer, mother-in-law Dorothy Leenknegt of Chesterfield, nine brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Rev. Melvin Hiler, pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Chesterfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Lynn Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.
